12 May 2005

Introducing Ancom Systems, V-Soft CD Suite Ancom Systems Division announces the introduction of its latest UPS Power Management Software named, V-Soft CD Suite (Version 5.1.2). This software suite contains a comprehensive range of interfaces between Ancom Power range of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) with the various operating systems available in the market. By delivering this software solution for power protection solutions, Ancom Systems Division is fast achieving its goal to become a Total Systems, Total Solutions organization.

Implementing V-Soft CD Suite’s key software components along with Ancom Systems comprehensive range of UPS products will allow users to get the most out of its power protection solutions. This is accomplished by providing a high level of available protocol interfaces that can be matched to various operating systems. Today’s complex network and monitoring protocols require specialist know-how in order to create an optimized solution that can effectively talk to clients’ National Operations Centers (NOC) and Building Management Systems (BMS). Ancom Systems Division can offer this know-how and will provide professional guidance to plan, design, install and deploy the appropriate power management software solutions for your equipment.

Each Ancom Power V series UPS will be delivered bundled with V-Soft CD Suite offering a user-friendly interface, guiding the user from software installation to the selection of functional features.

The V-Soft CD Suite was designed with the next generation of power management concepts in mind. It offers modularity, flexibility and scalability thereby adapting to the needs of the power protection infrastructure. This is the perfect solution for any progressive system administrator and facility engineer who needs local or enterprise-wide monitoring and control of multiple UPS systems and other power protection components supporting mission-critical applications.

The V-Soft CD Suite is a collection of client/server modules for IT networks and local workstations. Applications for these modules include display of system status, available hardware resources, remote operation controls for a host of conditions such as battery charge and discharge simulations.

Although a single component module, UPSMAN would suffice for managing a simple UPS system at the most basic level, the V-Soft CD Suite collection of software modules can be scaled and integrated to form a very elaborate and sophisticated intelligent facility management system. Systems configurations can range from a single server supported by a single UPS in one building to a wide area network consisting of multiple clients using different operating systems. The permutations of these systems can extend to the integration of different secure power options - diesel generators, battery farms and other alternative UPS systems spread out at sites, thousands of kilometres apart.

The server module of the UPS-Management Software is UPSMAN, which communicates via RS-232, USB or SNMP with the UPS or the UPS SNMP adapter. When UPSMAN is deployed, it will download all systems’ alarms and conditions from the UPS and graphically display all relevant information using client modules such as Windows UPSMON or UNMS, JAVAMON and USW or any web browser.
